The owl pellet and stuff was really fun. I really like ecosystems too.A food chain is where it basicly starts with the sun.Then plants start to grow.Next, little insects eat the plant to get energy.And then,a little animal like a lizard eats the insect to get more energy. And then, an animal aike deer eats the lizard even more energy. Then a predator swoops down to get it's prey. Then the predator dies and it stars all over again. Thats a food chain!
We need predators, because if we didn't have predators then the prey would be running crazy around just like if there was no wolves that ate elk then elk would go crazy and if there were sheep in the area then there would be no food for the sheep and the sheep would die. Also, sometimes if there's too many elk in the area then they could also die of sickness.
I learned that the sun gives energy to all living things,and I learned that if a person kills a consumer then there will be to much pray then the pray will eat a lot of plants then a animal that eats the same food will starve and die because the pray ate all the plants!
I learnd what regergitat means and how a foodchain starts like this first the sun than like a grass hopper eats the grass then a praing mantis eat the grass hopper then a frog eats the praing mantis then the owl eats the frog and then soon (years later) the owl will die and mush roomes will brak uppart the owl wich will give netreeins to the soil and the cicel will start all over again.
For a foodchain you need the sun.Then, the sun shines on a plant(producer).Then, an animal(consumer/herbavore)comes along and eats the plant.After that, a shadow comes behind.A bigger consumer eats the smaller animal.Then, when the animal dies,the mushroom(decomposer)eats that animal.

The other animals that eat the same kind of there food will diad and there peredors that eat them will diad to. Last but not leest a bear eats a posom.
And also a foodchain is like a foodweb but it is smaller.And two foodchains make a foodweb.How long would it take to make a foodweb?Do ecosystems have foodchains in them?
